Where we are

The Ringsash Circuit is set in the heart of beautiful Mid Devon countryside, situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and the dramatic North and picturesque South Devon coastlines.

This area of Devon is known for its rolling hills, hidden woodlands, rivers and verdant valleys, teeming with wildlife. Local restaurants, cafes and farm shops make the most of the high quality local produce on offer.

The quality of the natural environment is matched by the richness of its cultural heritage with the historic cathedral City of Exeter 30 minutes away linking the area to rest of the country with the M5, mainline station and international airport.

We have four churches in our Circuit and we would very much welcome you to come along to any of the activities that take place.

our history

The Ringsash Circuit has a long and rich history, dating back to to the early 1800s. For more information about how the our circuit was founded, and about the history of each of our churches, click the link below.

what we believe

One God, Creator of heaven and earth

We believe there is only one God, the Creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1). God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

U

Unity is central, for Jesus says the world will believe when they see we are one

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, that all believers are members of His body, the Church (Philippians 2:1-4).

R

Reconciliation, being reconciled to God only through Jesus Christ

The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross; dying in our place, paying the price of sin and conquering death, so reconciling us back to God.

D

Deity of Jesus Christ, who is the eternal Son of God

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 1:1). Jesus stepped into His own creation (John 1:14), born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18) and lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). He gave His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). His death atoned for our sins (Hebrews 9:15; 22).

Obedience to God's Word

We know that we are followers of Christ and love Him as children of God when we are obedient to His word.

C

Christ bore our sins making atonement on the cross at Calvary

The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.

T

The Holy Spirit, the 3rd Person of the Godhead, the counsellor and comforter guaranteeing God's people salvation

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the Third Person of the Godhead, the Holy Trinity. The Holy Spirit is received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 2:37-38). He is the guarantee of salvation who assures us of our adoption by God the Father and we have been given the right to be called children of God. The Holy Spirit is the giver of gifts for building up the body of Christ, the Church and our lives, when lived in the Spirit will produce fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25).

R

Resurrection of Jesus Christ after His crucifixion on the third day, witnessed by hundreds

After His resurrection, witnessed by hundreds, Jesus ascended to heaven, with the promise of His return. He now sits at the right hand of the Father in glory (Acts 1:9).

I

Image bearers, all people are created in God's likeness, therefore life is sacred

We believe that God created all human beings in His image. Therefore, we believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; We follow Christ’s example, believing every person should be treated with love, dignity and respect (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10).

N

New creation is what we become when we repent and believe in Jesus

When we trust in Jesus Christ and come to Him in repentance and faith we are baptised. Through this act of obedience to His Word we are brought into the family of God, adopted by God, and called sons and daughters of the living God. The Holy Spirit affirms with our spirit that we belong to Him, for we cry Abba Father (Romans 8:15). When we are born in the Spirit (John 3: 1-21) we become a new creation, for the old has gone and the new has come (2 Cor 5:17).

E

Everyone is destined to die once and then comes judgement

Jesus will return again to judge the world (Revelation 22:20). Jesus is the only name by which we are saved (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no other name than Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).

S

Scripture is the inerrant and inspired Word of God, useful for teaching and correction

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are the supreme authority inspired by God for His people. They are reliable and trustworthy for faith, life and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
